What Are The Applications Of Direct Dyes?

Direct Dyes are used by imparting electrolyte in the machine that can run at atmospheric pressure. But in HTPH dyeing machines, it is carried out at temperatures above the boiling point in the case of pure and blended yarns.
Direct dyes are sensitive to acid so Alkalis are added usually sodium carbonate, with direct dyes and hard water to enhance the solubilization of dyes. When cellulose is dissolved in direct dyes solution, it absorbs direct dyes from that solution until equilibrium is attained. The rate of absorption and equilibrium exhaustion may vary from dye to dye. The substantivity of the dye is referred to as the proportion of the dye absorbed by the fiber compared to that remaining in the dyebath.
